During our 5 days in Pervomaisk for our second softball camp, each of us on the team stayed with a different host family.   I stayed with Anya, who I just fell in love with!  Her and her husband Sasha, and her 4 year old son Timor, were amazing hosts.  The first night at their house, they were eagerly curious and excited to talk to me and hear all about my adventures with the World Race!  I told them all about each country I’d been to and what we did there, and showed them several of the videos I’d made from each place!  With the help of Google-translate online, we had a great conversation!

Anya does nails for a living, so she did mine the first morning, as well as my make-up everyday!  I felt a little silly going to softball camp done up in 90’s rock-star make-up, but my team sure got a kick out of it!   She is the epitome of a girly girl.  The first day of softball, she came out in her stiletto heels and glamour outfit!  HA.

We both play the piano, and she had one at her house!!  We’d both played songs for each other and just really enjoyed hanging out during the week.  She was one of the most difficult people to say goodbye to; probably because I could see how much it meant to her for me to be there with her.

I don’t really know how to explain it.  Have you ever had someone that you hadn’t known very long, but you just clicked and it was really hard to part ways?  This was it.  She bawled like a baby the day we said goodbye.  It was torture for me!  However, she is one of the many people from the world race that I’m now facebook friends with; and through technology I know without a doubt we’ll keep in contact.  What did world racers do before email, facebook, and Skype?!?!
