I have a story to tell..
It’s a story about a young girl, a young girl who two years ago was 100% sure about only one thing in her life..
That the New England Patriots were going to win Super Bowl 51.
She was sitting.. well.. standing.. on a chair in her parent’s living room in freezing cold (literally) Oswego, Illinois. She had a decision to make and the only for sure answer was that it was February and Tom Brady was set for his 5th Super Bowl ring.
The decision she needed to make?
Does she leave that small town that isn’t so small anymore to a place she’s never even been?
Does she pack up everything, without a job, without a degree, without security, and just GO?
Does she step into the door that God just opened for her? Without really paying much attention to the fact that it WAS Him who opened the door for her.. like the gentleman that He is?
I could continue telling you the details of the next 2 years of her life.. or I could tell you where she is now.
Now she’s in Malaysia.. pointing others towards the arms of the Heavenly Father. She spent this morning in a chair, drinking coffee, at 8:00AM, watching the New England Patriots set up to win Super Bowl 53.
She’s in Malaysia, following a call.. a good call.. not like the ones in the NFL playoffs this year.. but a call from God.. to love people the way He loves her.
She gets to spend this next month walking through life with friends who she is linked to for eternity. She gets to speak truth into pain and she gets to rejoice over redemption with those friends.
One call to obedience two years ago to leave home, followed by another call of obedience one year ago to leave home again led her to a sweet Monday morning watching Tom Brady win his sixth Super Bowl ring.
What a gift.
Jesus is so cool.
And God’s even cooler.
