Hey everyone! I first want to thank everybody who has supported me financially throughout my race. The people I have been able to meet and speak to about the gospel, and the places I have seen the Lord move have been..well.. SO COOL!
We are currently in UGANDA, AFRICA! For those who do not know yet, we have had some team changes! I’ll send out more deets later, but my role has changed! I have been raised up to become a Squad Leader for L Squad, and now have the opportunity to minister to my squad as they listen and follow what the Lord’s plan is for them in their new teams! I am currently staying with Team RAD (Radiate and Delight-in ‘da Lord) for a few days which has been full of laughter and love from the Father.
One of Team RAD’s beautiful women, Aryne Gardea, is praying to become fully funded ASAP! The Lord has placed her here on purpose, and it has been really incredible to witness her selfless service for her team and for the Father. So without further hestitation.. MEET MY WONDERFUL SQUADMATE AND FRIEND ARYNE!
Aryne is 22 years old, from Stockton, California, and has a hard time picking her favorite food to eat.. but her favorite food to cook is CHICKEN PARM! (She has cooked practically every meal since I have been here visiting, ranging from French toast to veggie fajitas and let me tell you.. I’m going to miss her cooking when I leave here!) She has a sweet taste in music and her favorite song is Cherry Wine by Hosier.
Aryne has a dream of being a wife, a mom, and a nurse. But the dream that brings a glow to her face and a shining light to her eyes is her dream of owning a Mobile Coffee Truck. Her mobile coffee truck would allow young adults who are lost to find a safe place that provides them work. She has dreams of this Coffee Truck being used for all different events and venues.
Aryne’s top moments in Africa so far:
- Being in JINJA! (Uganda)
- Meeting Anne (Team RADs AirBnB host)
- Investing in Anne’s family (Aryne and Team RAD already have stockings and a Christmas tree in this home.. so cool!)
- All of the people we have been able to meet so far!

Where have you seen Jesus move since arriving here?
“My team and I really struggled to find a place to stay after debrief, and we all saw ourselves wanting to be in Jinja, and once we sat and prayed about this, provisions just kept coming and coming and we were led to Anne (this team’s AirBnB host) with an entire home, and kitchen…then we met Kavina who led us to an orphanage where we can minister and to a women’s bible study that we will have the opportunity to lead.”
What are you most excited about over the next month and a half?
-Getting to know my new teammates! And Africa.. of course.. I mean.. its Africa!!!
