Hey friends! If you are visiting this page, chances are you are interested in learning more about me and my journey with The World Race. I’ll start by giving a little introduction on who I am.
I was born in Seattle and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona with two incredible parents who lead me to know Jesus. I also have a younger brother and sister and have a very unique and close relationship with each member of my family. Growing up, my family travelled all over the U.S. and visited many amazing cities as well as went camping and hiking in many of our country’s national parks. Growing up with a family that liked to travel and explore instilled in me a fascination with the world and all it has to offer. Ever since I was a little girl, traveling has been something I have been extremely passionate about.
My faith is the center of my life and has changed and transformed me in ways that would have been impossible without the love and mercy of Jesus. The World Race combines ministry and travel, two of my biggest passions. I cannot wait to spread the love of Jesus around different cultures and feel beyond blessed that God has led me to his incredible opportunity! I hope y’all will join me on this journey virtually by following my blog.
I took a couple international trips with my family growing up, but my first big travel experience actually came at the beginning of 2018 when I moved to the Netherlands for three months to study abroad. While in the Netherlands, I travelled to eleven additional countries across Europe. This semester of traveling was transformative in many ways, the most significant of which were helping me overcome a lot of the anxiety I had struggled with growing up as well as reaffirming that travel and experiencing different cultures is one of my biggest passions.
Some other fun facts about me … I love photography and writing! My dream job would be to combine these two things and be a photojournalist for National Geographic. I am currently completing my Bachelor’s degree in English Literature at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I will be graduating in May of 2019 and have loved every minute of my college experience at Baylor. I am not 100% certain what I want to do with my degree yet, but some things that interest me are teaching, ministry, and journalism. I also am considering getting my masters degree after completing World Race, but am still trying to figure out if that is the Lord’s plan for me. Some of my favorite things in this world are coffee shops, corgis, the mountains, and spending time with my family and friends. If you want to learn more about who I am and what I hope to contribute to this mission trip, feel free to email me! I am always down to talk!
