I wish I had time to upload some Thanksgiving Day pictures but things are a bit crazy. One, I’m leaving with my entire squad for Israel tomorrow. I don’t think I could be more excited about spending Christmas in Israel. Second, we are doing a squad wide technology fast for the month. I have to admit I was initially very angry about this idea, especially with it being Christmas. However, God has calmed me down and I know there is going to be incredible growth this month.

Rewind a bit. I was able to experience on of the most awesome Thanksgiving’s ever. God is totally in the business of providing. We were able to secure a church for the day to cook in and for our entire squad to invade. Me and 7 other girls set out the night before for this feat. Lauren Williamson and I spent 3 hours in the store deciphering foreign packages and groceries. We spent a few hours prepping for lunch and Thanksgiving feast for 50 people with a budget of 270 Lira, which is around $4/person for the entire day. Well the cooking went seamlessly and we had TONS of food and a legit meal. We did have chicken rather than turkey but we also had stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, glazed carrots, pomegranate sauce, apple cobbler with ice cream, cake mix cookies (extremely hard to come by) and more. Even more awesome, we were able to spend the day together worshiping, had a baptism of 2 squad members, and spent time together having fun and relaxing.
Beginning tomorrow on my flight to Israel begins our technology fast. That means no computers, no iPods, no cell phones, nothing.  We
get one day a week to use our computers exclusively for writing a blog and our team leader will upload it for us.
The purpose of the fast is to truly exercise abandon and what we’ve
left behind to pursue what God has in store for us. It’s taken most of today to come around to this idea. Honestly, I was ok with no Internet. But no computer to play our workout DVDs in the morning and no iPod to calm me to sleep and even cheesier I’ve become addicted to sermons. Please be in prayer for my team, pray for unity.

Last but not least, Happy Early Christmas and I’ll actually talk to you all soon. Thank you for your continued support of this journey. I have much to be thankful for.
