Ask any Racer, past or present, and I’m sure they can tell you travel days are always interesting. My team can tell you they usually make me a little crazy, ok a lot crazy. Things always seem to go wrong due to some form of language/communication barrier, seedy transportation or plain malfunction. However, we got lucky this time and this travel day seemed to be one of our better ones.
So here’s a peek of some K Squad travel from Africa to Asia. We were pretty excited to fly after 3 months of traveling on shady African buses. Also, one of my squad mates, Ashley Higgins, is an amazing videographer and queen bee when it comes to K Squad videos. I had made this travel day video and like a bonehead didn’t remember the last travel day video she made featured the same song. It’s just such a perfect travel day song! So my apologies to copying her, they say imitation is the best form of flattery eh? So I’m throwing some credit her way.
This travel day was extra exciting as we were heading into a debrief. We were also spoiled rotten this time and got to stay in an actual hotel. For us this is a BIG DEAL! We are usually crammed like sardines somewhere questionable and we’ve grown accustomed to expect this. What was really hilarious, on the plane from Qatar to Bangkok was so nice and we were like kids in a candy store going crazy while everyone else on the plane found it completely normal. They handed out little ‘gift’ bags complete with a pair of socks, eye mask, and ear plugs and it was like Christmas morning all over. So thank you Qatar airlines for making some World Racers really happy.
