Two weeks ago I had the awesome opportunity to host a pancake breakfast at my church before service on Sunday morning to help raise money for my trip. It was thrown together pretty quickly and things went seamlessly, thank you Jesus!

I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to the college group who rallied together and woke up extra early to be there and help me prepare, flip and serve pancakes. You guys rock. It felt like I barely lifted a finger, you guys did everything. Not to mention the new level you took pancake flipping to, it’s now truly an art in my book.

Another LARGE thank you to those who attended. It was so great to see not only familiar faces but unfamiliar ones as well who were interested in supporting a member of their church family. I was able to raise about $600; not too shabby! Thanks for listening to me as I fumbled for words to tell you about my trip and for being interested about the different aspects of the Race.

With that being said, I’m well on my way and things are starting to sink in. Our airline tickets were purchased for Dublin and I’ll be leaving out of New York on August 11. Everything is beginning to feel tangible now. I’ve purchased an airline ticket to NY, much of my gear, I’m starting to get rid of more and more things and I’m enjoying my summer and cherishing time with friends and family.

I’m currently at $3,950 with my funds (including the pancake breakfast money) and need $8,200 to leave for Dublin on August 11. Please keep my team and me in prayer as we prepare to leave behind loved ones and continue to fundraise during our last month home.

Thank you to ALL who’ve donated. You have no idea what an impact it has made on my life and grown my faith, whether it was $1, $10, $100 or $1,000 (thank you anonymous donor). Each of you has helped make this crazy journey possible. I can’t wait to show you all the faces of the people you will help bring hope and love too.
