It’s been a while since I have updated you on my financial support. God is good and I am currently fully funded for The World Race, Praise the Lord, or as they say in Africa “Bwana Asifiwe!”
However, my teammate Bambi Bigley still needs support to complete the Race. She is very dear to me and an incredible woman of God who has continually challenged me in my walk this year. If you’re a monthly supporter, please consider transferring your support to her. If you have questions about doing so please contact me.
Also, I wrote a previous blog about an orphan named Benard Kwoba whom God placed in our path this month. We’re raising money to send him to school. Here in Africa, if you don’t complete school you can’t do much of anything as you can’t be hired for a job and life can be tough. We know God wants us to care for Benard. Please read more about him and consider helping.
AND as if I haven’t fundraised enough this year, why not throw in some more?
I’ll be returning to the states sometime around July 1st. One of my first goals upon my arrival is getting back in shape as the Race has taken its toll on my waistline. My teammate Heather Dodge and I talked one day about how we’re going to get back in shape and decided why not get in shape for a good cause?
I’ll be doing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 day Walk in Washington D.C. in October with Heather and her team. It’s quite a ways away but I need to raise $2,300 to walk so I’m getting the word out now. I’d love for you to help support me! Lastly, if you have Facebook, become a fan of our team: Breast.Foot.Forward!
For now, I’m enjoying my last few days in Kitale. I will be sad to leave; it’s been one of my favorite places on the Race thus far (Hungary being my other favorite). Team Mosaic will be heading from Kitale, Kenya to Jinga, Uganda to meet up with the rest of K Squad. We’ll have a few days off where we’ve been given the option to spend personal money to go white water rafting down the Nile. Luckily, my birthday just happens to be in March so I have the finances to do so. From there we’ll be heading into our last African country (still TBD) and my 8th month on the Race. Then in April it’s off to Thailand, time feels as if it’s flying
