Where did this month go? I say this at the end of every month but this time I’m not only moving countries, but also switching continents. And our last continent change at that. This month has been one of the longest on The Race. Ministry has been more relaxed compared to normal African standards, which has allowed us lots of time to rest. I spent the month living with 13 other people as my team and Team Oasis were together this month. Between the 14 of us we spent the month passing around malaria, typhoid and amoebas amongst each other. As a going away present, Africa gave me malaria and typhoid. I’m feeling fine just very tired but I’m pumping myself full of antibiotics. Luckily, we’ve had plenty of time to rest and most of us have fully recovered. Please continue to pray health over us.
We left Tanzania yesterday and after a 16-hour bus ride I’m back in Nairobi at what now feels like our home away from home at the hostel we’ve been at 3 times now. We have a few days of completely nothing to rest and enjoy time together as a squad.
Saturday morning we fly to Bangkok, Thailand and arrive Easter morning. We will be in Bangkok until April 9 for debrief where I’m excited to see our old squad leaders (whom we haven’t seen in 5 months) and our coaches. From there things are switching up. My team is breaking apart for the month. All of K squad guys are heading for a month of ‘man’istry in Western Thailand, Bambi and Heather will be together at in orphanage 3 hours outside Bangkok and Bethany, Birkleigh and I will be heading with 14 other women to Phuket, Thailand to work in the red light district with a prostitution ministry.
I am excited for a change of scenery and what this last leg of The Race holds. Please continue to pray for endurance and strength to finish. Sometime in the next few weeks our tickets home will be purchased (crazy!) and as of now I’ll be landing in the States on July 1st and be home just in time to celebrate the Fourth of July, hopefully filled with LOTS of American food.
I’ve gotten pretty lazy about taking pictures the last month so I usually have a long picture blog but will only leave you with a few this time around. Miss you all!

[I love how they hold babies on their backs here. Even little kids hold their brothers and sisters like this.]
[This baby was terrified of ‘mzungus’ and would start crying if you held him.]
[Kids were always peeking through the church windows when they saw the ‘mzungus’ coming.]
[This little girl was always snuggling with one of us, her name is Rachel.]
[Little girl watching us at church one morning.]
[This picture is a little blurry but I loved him so much, he was so full of laughter.]
[Erin from Team Oasis finally got to hold the little boy who was afraid of ‘mzungus,’ after a few minutes he began to cry.]
[This picture is actually from my time in Tanzania in 2008 but is my favorite and reminds me of God’s faithfulness.]
