Our month in Romania is already over! I cannot believe how quickly time is passing by. This month was packed full of ministry at Hope Church in Romania. I have only shared bits & pieces of our ministries on social media, so this blog includes a picture and description of everything I’ve been involved with!
1. Widow Ministry
There are a handful of widow’s in this area. Widow ministry included grocery shopping for them, chopping wood, and going to just visit and talk with them. Our visits even included coffee and pastries!
2. Street Evangelism
I posted a video blog explaining our efforts in street evangelism. Click here to watch!
3. Office Work
Our ministry host, Raul, was incredible! He is very innovative and always thinking of ways to serve others. As an elder at Hope Church, he supports a lot of ministries. We were able to, in turn, support him as he is coordinating a lot of different ministries. A more in-depth look at Hope Church and everything they do in South Romania can be found here.
4. Building projects
Because Hope Church hosts hundreds of short term missionaries per year, they need places to house & feed them all! Due to funding, unfortunately there are no buildings in progress yet, but my squadmates spent a lot of time shoveling dirt & leveling the ground to prepare for the foundation of a new mission house.
5. Harvesting Corn
One of the long-term Romanian missionaries here grows field corn to feed their animals. So, we harvested the entire field by hand!
6. New Testament Project
South Romania has been referred to as the graveyard for Christian missionaries and pastors, as only 0.2% of the population in Southern Romania is Christian, and witchcraft and evil is rampant. To combat this, Hope Church has a New Testament project. Their goal is to give every person in South Romania a copy of the New Testament in Romanian. We passed out a lot of these during our time here. It was an amazing experience to walk through the villages handing these out, and then see people reading them next to the fire while cooking their dinner. Hope Church’s supply of NTs is running low, so if this project and supporting it peaks your interest, let me know and I can connect you with a way to fund a case of New Testament Bibles to be passed out!
7. Assisting with church services
We shared testimonies, sang, played guitar, and hosted children’s ministry in a distant village church!
8. Craiova ministry
Every weekend we sent a team of evangelists to Craiova, a larger city neighboring the village we’re in. The team mainly got to know a lot of university students in the area, and towards the end of our month here, we put on a concert for everyone! I made a video blog of what happened. View it here!
9. Kids ministry
For each kids ministry day, we came up with a skit / Bible story to act out, sang a few songs, and played games! I made a video blog about it. Click here to watch!
That’s all the news I have regarding ministry – however, remember that I’m still fundraising! I am in need of $3,410 to stay on the World Race. If you feel led to contribute to my work in ministries like the ones explained above, you may donate to this blog!
Thanks again everyone!
