I can’t believe we are heading into month #7!!  And contradictory to our original itinerary, we are spending this upcoming month in Mozambique (it was supposed to be month #8).  We have been assigned to a small town called Chamba which is 12km outside of the large coastal city of Beira (next to the “Indian Ocean” label on the map below.

We will be working at a boys home called Kedesh which means sanctuary.  Kedesh was created and is under the supervision of John Wickes, a U.S. national who has been in residence
for over a decade in Mozambique.
The primary mission of Kedesh is to provide housing, food, education and Judeo-Christian
spiritual direction for adolescent boys from the Beira area.
Kedesh provides the boys with an education from private local schools.
They are also taught life skills and construction trade education by John along
with other Kedesh mentors and visiting volunteers (us).
Kedesh also serves as a sanctuary and resource for several local area widows.  Here is there website for more info: http://www.kedeshmozambique.com/

Please pray for safe travels as we leave Cape Town today on a 20 hour bus ride to Jo-berg.  We’ll spend the night in Jo-Berg Tuesday night and then leave on a 12 hour train ride over the border to Maputo.  Then from there it is off to Beria where we should arrive Friday!  I’ll check in when we arrive.  See you there!!
