The past couple of weeks the men from team Wrecking Ball, Charles McCall and Mike Hall, have been coming out to Pouk to help out with handy man kind of stuff at the University of the Nations. Since they were here anyways they decided to join us for devotions and prayer. Yesterday Charles led our devotion and talked about being desperate for the Holy Spirit. At the end he challenged us to think about what it looks like when we are desperate for the Spirit.

I did my best to write down what everyone said and put it all together with the challenge we were left with: to become be honest with ourselves and become truly desperate for the Spirit.

When We Are Desperate…

When we are desperate for the Spirit

Loving people, even when it hurts, becomes possible.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

Everything about our perspective changes and we surrender fully to God.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

His word becomes alive and life changing.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

Worship becomes so much more than words and songs it becomes relational and engaging.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

We can trust Him completely.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

Fear is not an option.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

We stop being bound by our past.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

The only words that matter are His.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

We don’t seek out gifts, they just come naturally.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

Our attitude changes and we can see the big picture.

When we are desperate for the Spirit

The things of this world have no hold on us.

Are we truly desperate for the Spirit?
