I am no longer house sitting, (YAY! Finally…), and I’ve spent the last week at home working and trying desperately to get everything organized and prepared for my world race adventure. I have a list of things to do the length of my arm but day by day things are coming together and tasks are getting crossed off.
My main focus right now is support letters. Getting one to everyone that I know and following up on those I’ve already sent out. Today I am camping out in the CNC computer lab to get caught up in my blogging and to rewrite my support letter so that it’s actually relevant to a Canadian audience. IF, by chance, you’ve already recieved your letter then please take note that the 2 paragraphs in teeny, tiny printing do not apply to YOU as a Canadian citizen. You will not recieve a tax reciept for your donation. I’m sorry about all of the confusion that has caused. I’m trying to clear it up today.
I have been encouraged by the responses that I’m getting from the supporters that I have spoken with. I missed a support deadline on Aug. 18th, I needed $2000 US in my account and it wasn’t there, but I’ve caught up since then and I met my own personal goal of $2400 Canadian for the month of August. So I’m still on track and God is STILL faithful.
AIM’s next deadline is September 15th. I need to have $3000 US in my account or on the way by then. I’m already halfway there and quite a few people have pledged support. I am slowly starting to do follow up but if you’ve pledged then PLEASE follow through so I can meet my next deadline on time. My own goal is to add another $2400 Canadian to my account for the month of September bringing my account balance up to $4800 Canadian. I am confident that all the funds will come through, but once again, I know it can’t happen without your support.
A prayer request for the next several weeks. Obviously, that I would meet my support goals, but also that I would make progress on a few fundraiser ideas that I’m looking into. I am considering a raffle and that means I need a gaming license. Other than that please pray for energy and enthusiasm. I am getting really tired and overwhelmed. School begins next week, I’ve already cut back so that I’m only taking one class, but between work, finding time to do world race stuff and spending time with family, I am getting pretty tired. I have never taken on so much at once and I’m not really amazing at juggling.
With that in mind, when I get a chance, I will be starting to put together a prayer team. I need a group of about 10-15 people willing to pray for me each day of the race. I will send them special updates and prayer requests. They are my frontline warriors while on the field. Please pray about being involved with that as well. If you feel God calling you to it and want more information or want to volunteer please don’t hesitate to contact me.
