For the next three weeks my team Arete along with 3 other teams from The World Race will be working with YWAM and hundreds of volunteers to run two different conferences. We will be volunteering full-time and will be at the disposal of their discretion as what specific job duties we will be doing.
New Zealand is a beautiful place filled with amazing different shades of color. The different shades of green are immaculate. A camera just doesn’t do the country justice. To truly see the sites first hand is a blessing and I have to keep telling myself that I this is my life for the next month. The country feels a lot like home in a lot of ways. It is very Westernized and sometimes I feel like I am in America just in a different state other than Michigan.
The people of New Zealand are just beautiful. There skin has a golden glow, (probably due to the hole in the ozone layer). On the spiritually side of things these people are hard. There is a sense of tried that done that no thanks. On Thursday we were able to see it first hand for the first time. We went to the beach and had a day of rest and relaxation. While there my team and I were able to speak with a couple of Kiwis (people of New Zealand). It was so evident that there is a hardness for who Jesus is. They have heard the gospel of Jesus their entire life. Bringing the gospel here isn’t enough. They have heard the story. They have been evangelized too. They need the Truth spoken into them. They need warriors to fight.
