For the next three weeks my team Arete along with 3 other teams from The World Race will  be working with YWAM and hundreds of volunteers to run two different conferences. We will be volunteering full-time and will be at the disposal of their discretion as what specific job duties we will be doing.

The first conference is Jubilee (www.ywamjubilee.com) which is a celebration of 50 years for YWAM. The conference is held on January 17-19th at Bethlehem College in Tauranga, New Zealand. The next conference is the Call2All Next Generation Gathering (www.call2all.org) from January 19th-22nd. The Call2all is more of a revival, which I am excited to see and be a part of.

New Zealand is a beautiful place filled with amazing different shades of color. The different shades of green are immaculate. A camera just doesn’t do the country justice. To truly see the sites first hand is a blessing and I have to keep telling myself that I this is my life for the next month. The country feels a lot like home in a lot of ways. It is very Westernized and sometimes I feel like I am in America just in a different state other than Michigan.

The people of New Zealand are just beautiful. There skin has a golden glow, (probably due to the hole in the ozone layer). On the spiritually side of things these people are hard. There is a sense of tried that done that no thanks. On Thursday we were able to see it first hand for the first time. We went to the beach and had a day of rest and relaxation. While there my team and I were able to speak with a couple of Kiwis (people of New Zealand). It was so evident that there is a hardness for who Jesus is. They have heard the gospel of Jesus their entire life. Bringing the gospel here isn’t enough. They have heard the story. They have been evangelized too. They need the Truth spoken into them. They need warriors to fight.

Honestly this month is going to be difficult in the typical view of what an American missionary ministry would be. I am being challenged to experience God in different ways and stepping up and keeping an ear for what God is saying as what to do. God knows their hearts and without us listening to what He wants us to do His will can’t not be done to the fulfillment that is possible.

P.S. Trying to upload photos for you guys, but I need to know how to compress photos in iphoto…working on it. Hopefully, I will be able to before the next blog!!!
