On January 30 we will be leaving the beautiful country of New Zealand to travel to another beautiful country, Australia. We will be working in an aboriginal community located in Mossman. The ministries we will be involved in entail:

Evangelism               – Orphanage                  – Construction
– Door 2 Door        – Parenting Program        – Prayer and Worship
Preaching            – Service Projects            – VBS

The most consistent ministry right now is a program that teaches women about the basic needs of their children. It is like a parenting class that meets three times a week in the mornings.
 The church has been in the community for a long time but has changed hands several times (missionaries have come and gone). There is a need for focus on small groups (ie women’s ministry, men’s ministry, children and youth).   

I am excited to be able to work into a community of aboriginal community. However, after learning the history of Australia the minitsry we will be doing will be more difficult than I first expected. A lot of things happened in the older geneations lifetime and relationships may be hard to develop. However, with the work of the Holy Spirit all things are possible.
