Hi All!
My name is Nicole Beltramo. I am a senior at University of California, San Diego, earning a major in Human Development and a minor in Education Studies. I am passionate about lots of different things, but my favorite is people! I have been blessed to be involved through my college years with Cru (a Christian organization for college students formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ) and also Bridges (an outreach to international students through Cru).
In my free time, I love to be outside- running, swimming, surfing, lounging in the sun…. Anything to soak up the beautiful sunshine! I am also a nerd at heart and love reading anything, learning new things, and watching movies. My favorite time is spent with other people- whether they are my closest family and friends or the new people that God brings into my life- I am invigorated by spending time with other people and learning about them.
I also have an amazing and supportive family that is such a blessing in my life. I grew up with my mom, dad, and younger brother in Huntington Beach with the majority of my entire family within a two hour driving radius of us. This meant that we had family time all the time! I loved growing up with all four of my grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins close enough that I could gain wisdom from them and create intimate relationships with them.
I accepted Christ into my life when I was a young girl at a Vacation Bible School, but He really became the King of my life in Middle School. I went on a Winter Camp retreat with the Junior High group out into the mountains and we had opportunities to learn about God and His love for us. During one morning of worship, I felt this incredible and overwhelming presence of God; there was no way that I could deny His existence or my desperate need for Him in my life. I broke down crying, which is a rarity for me, and confessed my brokenness to Him. Since then God has been growing me through my experiences in High School, and especially my experiences at UCSD, where I was able to experience a genuine Godly community.
