When I tell people that I am going on The World Race, I typically get the response, “That is going to be a great experience for you.” I just nod my head and say, “It will indeed” or “Thank you!”
I feel like I need to let people know that this trip shouldn’t be about me. It should be about God and the people that have never heard of him. My mission is to go out into the world and tell others about Jesus. How he is the son of God who came down to deliver us from evil. God is going shine his light through me to shine on others.
This trip is about God, it is for God, and for His people. I am going and sacrificing my time for His glory alone.
In Matthew 10:1-7 Jesus has designated a group of 72 to prepare a number of towns for his later visit. These disciples were not unique in their qualifications. They were not better educated, more capable, or of higher status then Jesus’ other followers. What equipped them for this mission was their awareness of Jesus’ power and vision to reach all the people. It is important to dedicate our skills to God’s kingdom, but we must also be equipped with his power and have a clear vision of what He wants us to do. Jesus said he was sending his disciples out “like lambs among wolves.” They would have to be careful because they would surely meet with opposition. We too are sent into the world like lambs among wolves. We must be alert, and remember to face our enemies not with aggression but with love and gentleness. A dangerous mission requires sincere commitment.
We must be willing to give everything up for Jesus. Living for His glory is not a cake walk. It doesn’t mean tuck Jesus in your back pocket for when you need him. You must believe that he is the best thing out there. This trip is going to be far from comfortable.
I am selling t-shirts for $25 each cash/check
100% of the money is going towards my trip.
The t-shirts are made in Haiti.
On the front is the World Race logo with a tagline saying “Comfort is the enemy of progress.” Earlier this summer my best friend, Trenton Davis, kept saying this quote during small group. I found this quote to be true to itself. This is one reason why I photoshopped the word MOVE onto the world map along with Mark 16:15. “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
When we are content with God, we should not rest but be hungry and thirsty for him. We are the MOVE of God. We need to MOVE within our communities, our cities, our nation, and the world. This is not going to be comfortable, but it is not suppose to be.
This is more than just a mission trip. It’s a lifestyle.
