Have you considered donating to World Race, but may be in a tight financial crunch right now? No worries! Right now I am looking for tangible things I need on the race. Remember. I will be living out of a backpack virtually the entire year, so these items will help me get through it a little bit easier. There are a few things that I have not yet acquired or purchased that I still need for the Race. If you have any of these laying around the house and feel like you may not have use for them anymore, I would sincerely appreciate your donation. Here is a list of what I’m still looking for:
– Cone shaped mosquito net
– Paracord
– Portable speaker
– GoPro
– Headphones
– Sunglass neck strap cord thing that holds your sunglasses around your neck when they are off your face. I don’t know the official term for them.
People have also asked if there are other ways to donate other than just supporting the mission through financial means. YES! Gearing up for the Race requires all racers to make a list of what they feel they need during the course of the 11 months. It is strongly encouraged for people who don’t want to donate money but want to donate items to do so. I’ve already purchased a few things, but here is a list of what I would still need if you feel led to give in this way:
– Pad locks: 4 small, 1 large
– SOCO Hammock
– Vibram 5-Finger shoes size 10. These are therapeutic with all the walking we will be doing
– REI Lumen Sleeping Bag
– Footprint for Tent
Right now, I am about $2,121 funded. However, the deadline is quickly approaching, as I have 10 days to raise the needed $1,379 to reach $3,500 before I leave for training camp. I am continuing to work hours at P.F. Chang’s on the weekends, but if you need anything done during the course of the week, whether it be yard work, house cleaning, or needing errands run, I am more than willing to help you out with all proceeds going directly towards the Race.
I am also in contact with Fund the Nations in this fundraising process. I will be selling shirts for $20. The preliminary design isn’t final, but here is an idea of what the shirt will look like:
There may be some minor changes to the shirts such as the font, but I will put the final design up here as soon as it comes out. The shirt is blue because our squad color (“I” Squad) is blue. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing one via text, phone call, or email. $12 from each shirt sold goes directly towards the trip, so not only are you getting a shirt, you’re also helping out in the process!
