I came into Training Camp not sure what to expect and what I encountered was the revealing of what is going to help Matthew 10 truly come to life in these next 9 months – an incredible community that is going to go out into the world fearlessly spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, people back in the states who completely have our backs, and the reminder that the Holy Spirit dwells within all of us and is going to be constantly refreshing us when the going gets tough.
We heard fantastic messages, worshiped, took bucket showers, ate crickets, hiked 12 miles of the Appalachian Trail, had a fantastic community camp out night filled with prayer and worship – it was an overall great time.
Training Camp was the beginning of me listening to God’s plan for my life, which is immeasurably greater than I can ever imagine. God would laugh at the greatest dreams we could conjure up in our brains, because those dreams would be so insignificant and wouldn’t lead us to living as full of a life as he has planned for every single one of his children.
Up to this point I have seen and only paid attention to what people on Earth can do, be that mentors, parents, church members, friends, but I am finally ready and preparing for a lifetime of seeing what God can do! I don’t want to live a life where at the end I wonder what God could’ve done because I didn’t pay attention, but I truly desire to live my life seeing what God can do constantly only through his unfathomable power, which I know is immeasurably more than I can imagine (Ephesians 3:20-21).
In this upcoming season of life, I’m praying and invite you to pray for the discernment of God’s will in my life (Romans 12:2) and that in every situation I will approach ready to love people the way Jesus did.
I would also like to thank everyone for their words of wisdom and encouragement. It is greatly appreciated!
Nick
