So this month in Honduras has been really laid back. Our host is an awesome pastor. We’ve done some construction as well as working alongside the youth and doing some home visits. It’s cool cause our “ministry time” is not super regimented. We’re just doing life with the pastor, his family, and the local church.
Yesterday, we went with a couple ladies from church to visit another lady that can’t get out much. Through our broken spanish and their broken english we figured out that the lady had pain in her feet and ankles. As we were listening to the ladies talk, I just prayed and asked God how he wanted to heal this lady and He said, “Wash her feet while everyone prays over her.” “Ok Lord, is this from you or my imagination?” “It’s from Me.” “Holy Spirit, block out all my own thoughts and any distractions from the enemy. Is this what you want us to do?” “Yes” “Ok here we go.” So I waited for the ladies to be ready to pray, but one of my teammates felt like I had something to share. She leaned over and asked if I had something to say. I sure do. So I shared with my team what I believed God wanted us to do and managed to get that translated to the ladies we were with. And that’s what we did. We all prayed over the lady and sang “Our God” while I washed the ladies feet. When we were done, we asked her how her feet felt. NO more pain! Praise the Lord!!!
I share that story to encourage you that God wants you to be a part of what He is doing. Don’t be afraid. He’s speaking to you. Will you trust and obey? This is a lesson that I’ve been slow to learn and am still learning, but God has been soo patient with me in giving me more chances to be a part of what He’s doing. Jesus said, “Truely I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20) Will you choose to live in fear of the unknown and not having control? Or will you choose to trust your Father, surrender control to Him and make the leap of faith?
