My time here is coming to a close very soon. We only have one week of ministry left in the Philippines followed by a few days of debrief. The Father has been teaching me a few things that I would like to share with you.

A couple of days ago, I began thinking about how someone is truly saved. In Acts 8 and 16, there are the story of Phillip and the eunuch and the story of Paul and Silas leading a jailer to a relationship in the Son. In both stories, the Word teaches us that all we must do is ”
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” I also read Ephesians 2 and found something very interesting. Nowhere does is mention one thing that we do to be saved. If you really think about it, we can believe and still not be saved. There is one very important factor that we must never forget: without God intervening, our belief means nothing. How incredible is that? God loved you and me so much that He heard our cry and redeemed us. I have just learned that it is all Him and nothing at all that we did.

Two days ago, I got the incredible privilege to participate in the baptism of 4 people. So far, we have seen a total of 20 baptisms but that was the first time that the American guys performed the baptism. When I began to pray before baptizing the first person, I didn’t feel anything and I thought to myself, “I should be feeling some sort of empowering feeling or something.” But there was nothing. In that moment, the Father reminded me again that it has nothing to with me or even the person being baptizing. The symbolic act of baptism and my participation were worthless without God working. Never forget that you can do NOTHING without Him! The moment you forget that and try to do it on your own, you will struggle big time.

On the other hand, it is a comforting thought to think that everything relies on God. He still wants us to do our part but all we have to do is be obedient and He will take care of the rest. Do not fear when He calls you to do something bigger than you’ve ever done or been a part of before, because if it is a leading from God, He already has everything taken care of and will not leave you or forsake you.
