This weekend I got to float the river down in San Antonio with some awesome people! The river is one of my favorite vacations to do. Cheap, beautiful, relaxing…nothing better. Got the opportunity to talk with one of the people who came with us that I didnt really know, but was one of my best friends best friends, following me? We got to talk about each others journeys to Christ. About how inadequate we felt at times, how badly we messed up, and how sometimes we as humans cant understand how God can love us still. I had one of those great moments, pretty much the whole weekend, where God lays his love all around you. I could feel his love, it was potent, encompassing, beautiful, freeing, and MASSIVE. I encourage you to dwell if you havent before on how amazing our God is. Do you realize how short we fall of perfection? We CANT earn God's love and he knows it, but do we always know that? He loves and has loved us, you, from the beginning of time before the Earth was created he knew the mistakes you were going to make, the pain you were going to feel, the heart break, all of it. He knew, and yet He loves. God is so faithful to us. All we must do is turn towards him and be blasted by his glory, grace, mercy. It's so simple, yet can be so difficult. I wish my words were better so that I could describe the amazing feeling of resting in the peace that is his love. Back to the story of my new amazing friend. We were talking about our mistakes, our stories, what we want to do(or lack of knowing what we want to do) and God put words in my mouth. I ask this person," Do you believe in Jesus Christ with your heart and soul?" person,"Yes, with all my heart." me."Then you are already a success." These are definitely not my words, God totally spoke through me. But it is so true. We worry so much about the things of the world, and while we must be aware of what is going, work hard, and not sit on our hands loving and following Christ is ALL that matters. We live on this Earth for on average 80-85 years, then its done. We live in eternity with Jesus for, well, ETERNITY, forever, infinity!! Seems simple, yet overwhelming. The point Im trying to make is this, dont ever forget that Christ is what matters, but also dont ever forget that He is eternally and forever faithful to us. We can mess up a miillion times a million. Do things that no one should ever forgive and He still loves, LOVES, us like nothing we can describe. The beauty of the sun setting over the ocean, in my head, is about as close as I can come to describing that amazing love. Be comforted by this love always. When you feel down, or mess up, dont run from him or hide, remember Adam and Eve when they realized they were naked, but run TO him, dive into his arms and bury your face. He will comfort and hold you. Rest in that grace and love, open the word of God, or turn to him in prayer as fast as your can. He will always forgive, He will always love, and He will always ALWAYS be there for you no matter what.
