Hello America!

Just wanted to sum up our last week and let you all know that we are safe and sound in the Holy land. We flew in on Sunday and spent our first night here, near the Sea of Galilee. It would have been the coolest night of the whole Race if it hadn’t rained on us all night. The following day our contact took us on a tour through the area. We saw Capernaum, Bethsaida, The Sea of Galilee and a really old boat that was apparently from the era of Jesus, pretty sweet.  After our tour the teams split up and headed off to different places to begin their work. Somehow my team gets the privilege to be very near our contact(at least for now) and let me tell you the man is a genius. I have really never met a person with more knowledge of the scripture in all my life. I mean the guy will quote scripture in its original language and then explain it to us in detail. Including all the little word plays that are there in the Hebrew text but are mostly lost in translation. I can’t describe to you how blessed I feel to be here. To just listen, learn and soak up the knowledge that he tries to impart to us, its amazing. During our team worship time the other day I felt the Lord saying that this was our time to be with him, to learn, grow and rest in his spirit. I mean really, we’re in the Holy land, what better place is there to seek and learn.

Our other work will begin soon and I am so excited to experience it all with my family here. I know that you all know about the team changes that occurred and God has truly blessed us through the transition. Thank you for your prayers through all of this. I will try to keep you updated as much as possible this month.
Love Nick
