What’s UP!!!!!! I thought I take a minute to tell you all what I’ve been doing over here these past few days. After we’d said goodbye to Aaron and finished up our debrief team Ninja moved to another part of the city. Here that, I get to stay in Istanbul!! I love this city. Anyway, we split the ministries between the two teams we are working with and ended up being the team that gets to talk to people. What I mean by that is we try to find people that speak English and then strike up a conversation with them. Our Contact here has even provided us with gifts to give them, a bible and some Christian CDs. Its a lot like the street ministry we did in Ireland, except we don’t speak the language. We’ve only had the chance to get out and do this twice so far but I am really excited for the harvest that I know will come from it.
For those of you who may not know, Turkey is the most unreached nation in all the world. They have the fewest Christians, just around three thousand, the fewest churches and sadly fewer missionaries than any other nation. That of course makes ministry “hard and disheartening,” says those who’ve been here a while. So I’m not expecting revival to break out here tomorrow, but I know that it could and will happen and that is what makes me so excited about our ministry here. We get to be the seed planters. We’re going into areas that have people who have most likely never even spoken to a Christian. If I can carry the love of Jesus to them think of what that could mean, think how much affect we could have on the people here just by loving them the way Jesus has taught us too…..it blows me away.
This month is going to be great in many ways and hard in just as many. Please be praying for us, team Ninja and the J squad in general, the holidays are a reminder to us of how much we miss our families.
