My Name is Lacey Shantel Pauley, my family calls me Lacey Jane and some call me Shantel but most just call me Lacey. I’m from a little town in Southern Indiana, where everyone knows everyone. Where I grew up with my siblings, my amazing dad, and very loving aunts and uncles that treat me like their own. To tell you more about me I feel I need to tell you about the one’s I love.

First I want to tell you about my love, the one I adore. My Jesus, My savior. In 8th Grade He changed my life forever. I was wrecked, when He showed me His face, His presence and at that moment I knew I wanted more, I never wanted to be without this great love. He became my strength, my rock, the one I ran to when my world, when everything I knew fell apart. He became my joy when there was no joy; He was my companion when I felt there was no one. My Lord is amazing! My desire is to know Him more, to be used by Him. I can’t wait to see the plans that He has for us.

My family and I have been through a lot in the past years and without my uncles my aunts’ and my grandparents support and their love it would have been so much harder to get through. My family is a blessing from God.

I have an incredible Father (Tim). My dad is amazing; he’s not like ordinary dads. I can’t even explain how wonderful he is. He’s raised me and my siblings by himself and has done amazing job. He’s my Hero and one of my best friends. My dad’s Girlfriend (Sherry), is extremely sweet! And an amazing cook (I am definitely going to miss her cooking!). I love that my dad has someone that makes him so happy. She’s been an excellent addition to our family.

This is my little sister, Teresa (she’s 13). She’s a typical teenage girl when it comes to being on the phone and the internet, but her love for others and for the Lord is anything but ordinary. She will do amazing things for the Lord. And I love her so much!

My little brother, Talyn (he’s 12)is hilarious, he has a contagious personality. You can’t help but be in a good mood when he’s around. He has a very sweet spirit. He’s one of a kind and I am so proud of him.

My older brother Thomas and I have been through a lot together and I wouldn’t trade our friendship for anything in the world. It amazes me how God can change things around. He plays the big brother role very well, but he’s an amazing dad. He’s son is 3 and his name is Kadin. When he married I gained another sister, Megan. Megan and I have known each other since Kindergarten but since they’ve married our relationship has grown. She’s a terrific mom and makes my brother very happy. I’m very glad that she’s part of my family.

The Lord has given me a passion for children and for teenagers, but my nephew Kadin holds a very special place in my heart. I love being an aunt, and I like to think I do a good job spoiling him. I can’t believe he’s already 3! Isn’t he gorgeous?

Now I get to tell you about a very special man, my husband. I can’t explain to you how much God has blessed me by putting him in my life. God truly made us to be together. I would have never thought that I would be married to such an amazing man. He’s sweet, understanding, but at the same time he keeps me in line. He truly loves me as God loves the church. I am completely adored by him. I love spending my life with him and love the thought that we get to spend forever together.

When Nick and I married on June 23, 2006, I was blessed to become part of his family. His mom (Donna) truly loves me as she loves her own children, if you ask her I am her daughter. I always tell Nick that I always felt blessed to have such and amazing dad, the Lord has now blessed me with two amazing dad’s by bringing my father in-law (Rick) into my life. I have now have another sister (Bethany) she has a huge heart and listens when I need someone to talk to. Her husband (my other brother-Ryan) is a joy to be around when he’s not making fun of me!

When I was in Jr. High I started to get serious with my relationship with God. My youth group was a huge part of my life then and helped me through the storms of life; I built relationships that I will forever be fond of. It was at this time God revealed to me a passion for the youth and my calling was to become a youth pastor. For the past year Nick and I have been youth pastors and God has stretched and changed us through this experience. As much as I love being these kids Youth Pastor and it amazes me how much they’ve grown in the Lord. It’s time for us to move on. I know that God has amazing plans for these youth and they will be part of something huge, they will not be ordinary teens but will be the beginning of higher expectations.
We love you!

Nick and I were looking for a youth mission trip when we found “The World Race”. We discussed it but went on to our everyday lives. When we talked about it again we both said that we haven’t been able to stop thinking about the idea. We prayed about it and know that this is God’s plan for us right now. I am supper excited to be part of “The World Race”!
