Hello friends. 🙂
Today (Jan. 2) we’ll be traveling to Vietnam. Vietnam is a closed country and communication will look different compared to previous months. Evangelism is illegal in Vietnam and I will have to be careful about the kind of language I’m using while serving there (i.e. avoiding words like Christian, missionary, pray, etc.) That being said, our squad is required to set a password on our blogs and to make our social media profiles private.
The password for my blog is my first name, nichol (all lowercase). In order to access anything, you will have to have this password! Good thing it’s easy to remember.
This is particularly important when sending and receiving emails in Vietnam. The government has access to email and we want to protect the people we are serving. If you do send an email to me using language that can be linked to Christianity, avoid getting us/our hosts in trouble with the government by replacing a letter with a symbol (i.e. Christian = Chr1stian). Let me know if you have any questions and please join me in prayer over our month in Vietnam!
I will be updating you soon with more information about what the Lord is doing in my life personally. This month in the Philippines has been a real whirlwind!
Much love,
Nichol
