Over the past couple weeks, I have heard this thought and idea that was intriguing to me.  This is that some people only want enough Jesus to get into heaven or to barely make it in.  I’ve heard this idea from a few places.  First was at the awakening we had a few weeks ago.  (the awakening was a conference type deal where all the squads that are on the field in a country at a time come together for a few nights of worship and teaching which was really cool) The second place I heard this was on a video from one of my churches sermons from the same week which was crazy cool because neither person knew that the other thing was even happening or even what the topic was.

Anyways this idea was really cool to me because everyone who knows and accepts Jesus into their hearts is getting into heaven.  Some people will accept Jesus into their heart and then go to church on Sunday but that’s where it ends with their faith.  Which is fine like you’re getting into heaven but you aren’t living out the call and mission of a Christian at all.  You aren’t building a relationship and growing that at all just by having your Jesus be a Sunday only Jesus.  One illustration my pastor used from back home which I thought was really cool was this.  Many of us Christians are toe dippers.  We go around and dip a little bit into some service or read our bibles every now and again, but our lives aren’t changed at all by that.  Just like a tea bag can’t be dipped into water and have it turn into tea; it has to be all in in order to have any change from water to tea.

So as Christians if we really want change in our lives and want more than to just get into heaven then we need to do more than just dip in a little here and there.  We need to be all in with Christ.  We need to be in the word constantly, we need to be living how Jesus lived everyday not just on Sunday.  We need to live missionaly and not make doing mission work just one week long trips or even 9 months ones.  Now to live missionaly doesn’t have to be doing something crazy.  It’s as simple sometimes as just smiling at someone or asking them how their day is.  Living missionaly is living how Jesus lived and sharing the good news about Him to those who don’t know Him.

So how much Jesus do you want?  Do you want just a little Jesus that nothing actually changes in your life, or do you want to go all in and have that transformation and start affecting everybody around you by how you live and act?
