One thought that God has been putting into my mind for the past month and a half pretty much is this: that music transcends language much like God does!  This is so very true and really really cool I think!

God transcends language because we don’t need to speak the same language to show love to people, or even to live like Jesus and show what Jesus looks like in our actions!  That’s been a good reminder to me because I don’t speak a lick of Spanish, but in our ministry, I’ve been able to show the love of Christ in different ways!  I got to love on kids in Colombia and play soccer with them and give them joy in that.  Then in Ecuador at the farm the first two weeks serving there and working on the farm showed our servants hearts like Jesus and showed the love of Christ to the people we were serving at the farm by helping clean up their fields so they could plant!  Then at camp hope just serving around and fixing different things or cleaning around and serving in that way is how I showed Jesus to those working there!

Music then is similar because no matter where you go in the world people still can keep a beat (for the most part lol), people play music, and worship our creator with their voices! Music is a universal language, because the notes are the same on a piano no matter where in the world it is!  For me I love music so so much and being able to play the piano and bring joy and happiness to people through that is amazing; even if we can’t communicate because of a language barrier they can still enjoy the music because it speaks for itself!  Also using the gifts God has given me with musical talent to bring joy to people is ministry in itself, because I get to show people the love of Christ through the musical notes I am playing which brings them that joy!  Then in worship music it helps bring people into that place of intimacy with the Holy Spirit to connect on a personal level with God even if the words we sing are different!  Something that was really cool was whenever we did a song in English in Colombia that the Colombians knew in Spanish the Colombians would sing along in Spanish as the rest of us Americans would sing in English!! And you know what’s really cool about that?!?  God hears it all is pleased because, we are all worshiping the same God and all connecting with Him!

I love music a lot and can’t wait to use that gift God has given me later in this journey and back home and wherever I go in my life!
