Dear My Supporters,
This past April I graduated from Ambrose University College with a Bachelor of Science: biology. The feeling of apathy and fatigue that I experienced during the latter half of my last year at Ambrose, I believe, is God telling me to do something different. No more school! Ya! Well, at least no school for this upcoming year (I still plan on attending dental school in September 2015).
But to say that I am taking a “break” is not accurate. I may be taking a break from academics and textbooks, but during this upcoming year I will be stretched and challenged in ways university never could do and I will learn and experience things that school can never offer.
Last December I applied for the World Race and was accepted in March. So, what is the World Race?
The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. It is a mission trip organized by Adventures in Missions (AIM) for people ages 21-35. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip, but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in their local communities around the world. I will be travelling to 4 continents in those 11 months preaching the Gospel, planting churches, working in orphanages, ministering to women and children trapped in human trafficking, and bringing restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I am excited to use my gifts and abilities to positively impact God’s people, extend His kingdom, and to live out His calling. And, yes, I can’t wait to travel and have a winter-less year!
I have written you this letter to ask for your support. Firstly, I ask that you support me spiritually by praying for my team and I as we prepare for our journey and while we are in the field beginning this September. Secondly, I am asking you to support me financially.
I will face many challenges throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is finances. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to raise financial support. In order to leave fully funded at the beginning of September, I need to fundraise over $16,254. This money will cover all of my field expenses for all 11 months. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me in my financial goal of raising $16,254 before my launch (September 1st, 2014)?
I have sent out over 150 letters. If each recipient donates $100 over the next 5 months I will be pretty close to being fully funded!
