One of the biggest things I learned within the past week is that expectations are worthless.
They do nothing but set you up for disappointment.
…And God has a blast making your expectations seem like a joke.
As great as camp was this week, each and every one of us came in with some sort of expectation. I can guarantee a ton of those expectations were shattered.
I expected Asian food to be my favorite meal at camp… Sike.
I expected to shower at LEAST every other day… Make that every other two or three days.
I expected to take control in a lot of situations… God humbled me and taught me how to be silent… A lot.
I expected to feel uncomfortable around so many strangers… they became like family… instantly.
We were taken out of our comfort zones and put into situations that were meant to challenge us and stretch us. Situations that forced us to really rely on each other for encouragement and prayer and edification.
I loved it.
And I love the fact that even when I may hate it, I have 55 new family members that will love me anyways.
So now, I introduce you to my team.
The ones who will continue to encourage me and pray over me and edify me every day for the first several months of this trip.
They are my family.
My brothers and sisters.
My loves.
Through them, may God's Kingdom Come

From left to Right, Liz Schmal, Me =), Carmen Thomas, Megan Tschanz, Kat Kraft, Bryan Matthews, and our team leader, Ryan Otto!
I love you all, and CANNOT WAIT to see what God has in store for us! I couldnt have asked for a better group of people to start this incredible adventure with!!!
