“When he turned around the word angel was written on the back of his shirt…”

Travel days on the World Race are always unique experiences. First I can’t even believe how fast this past month at Zimbabwe flew by and now here we are moving on to month five.

For 6 days our entire squad spent time at a hostel in Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe for a debrief of our time on the race so far.

During debrief we also had team changes. There was a lot of change to work through and emotions were all over the grid.

Regardless, the Lord has called us onward to reach the nations with the hope of His salvation. Therefore, after debrief we packed up the bus and headed out to Botswana.

Our traveling experience was going smooth until we got to the border of Botswana. Somehow someway the bus drivers documents were lost and not accessible in order to cross over the border.

We were stuck there at the border, not knowing what to do or what would happen. In my mind I was doubting wow are we not suppose to go because now we’re stuck here and we’re never going to get through this.

Ever experience that? Being stuck in something in your life where you never think you’ll be able to cross over?

Then, our leadership team huddled together and prayed. As I stood there I chose to believe that despite our circumstances we were NOT stuck. I really had to believe that God was with us and He knew exactly what He was doing.

Moments later a bus pulled up across the street from ours and a man got out of the bus. It was a complete stranger but completely purposeful.

He started a conversation with our bus driver and stated that he had all the documents necessary to cross the border. After talking more with our bus driver he said that we could go with him and take us to cross the border and get to our destination in Botswana.

Our bus driver agreed with the man and as soon as the man turned around the back of his shirt read the word “ANGEL.”

We all stood in awe of God. Truly he was an angel sent by Jesus to get us over to cross the border and get into Botswana.

We loaded up the new bus and were able to cross over the border and make it to our ministry in Botswana. As I sit here in awe reflecting back on what the Lord has done I’m stunned.

God has full control of our lives, He is a God who knows, hears, and sees all the details and is an ever present help at all times. Despite being stuck God was present and knew our needs and He provided.

Are you stuck somewhere in your life? In something where you feel like it will never end or you will never get through it? Sort of like when I thought we’d never cross the border.

Trust that you are NEVER stuck. God is with you and calls you to choose freedom and trust in Him in all your circumstances.

Will you cross the border of full faith and trust to get out of being stuck but being free today?
