Since month 4 on the race I’ve been praying and asking Jesus to reveal Himself in a dream. I figure it’s not too much to ask, right? I mean He is God, the Creator of the world, the one that spoke the world into existence and created us humans out of dust.

I’ve heard radical stories of people seeing Jesus in their dreams. I’m a dreamer, so for sure, I believe this can happen….Well, to be honest, I haven’t seen Jesus in my dreams yet.

Recently I thought, God do you hear me? And if so, when are you going to answer this prayer? I almost thought, well maybe this will be an unanswered prayer.

Ever been there?

It’s like if you’ve prayed to God for something and you don’t get an answer right away. Or maybe you doubt it will even happen. Or maybe it is answered but the answer doesn’t turn out like you thought it would.

Usually if I pray for something and it takes a different turn, it’s way better than I can even think or imagine. It’s God who’s ultimately in control, not myself.

Then, I realized this dream I’ve been praying, to see Jesus in a dream, has actually become true in my daily life.

It was a dream of mine to come on the race. A dream to see people come to Jesus all over the world, to build community / the church, and to grow to know Jesus more.

That has happened. Although at first I thought, God why aren’t you answering my prayer, He reminded me even in the smallest details, He has answered it.

This month, I saw the joy of Jesus when a little girl named Carmen (who lives in the indigenous tribes) eyes crinkled as she laughed. I saw Jesus in my teammates as they sanded away and built benches for a new church in the midst of the jungle. I saw Jesus in the generosity of the locals who gave us ample amount of mangos, pineapples, and avocados. I saw Jesus in the missionaries we’ve worked with this month who spend time investing in discipling teenagers to follow Christ.

These are just a few ways that I not only saw Jesus, but KNOW Him too. I know He has revealed himself to me, even if it seems like the smallest details, it’s actually the smaller details that make up the greater picture of who He is in the world.

Have you ever asked Jesus to reveal himself to you?

If you haven’t, I challenge you to. He will show up in ways you can’t even think or fathom. He will remind you that He’s heard your prayer and He desires to reveal himself to you everyday.
