Have you ever been in love before where you’ve felt that butterfly experience in your heart? It’s as if your heart is so full of love that it’s about to leap or burst out of your chest?
Maybe for you it’s your family, spouse, kids or maybe it’s your friends you love so dearly that you want to spend every waking moment with them. It’s like you can’t get enough of spending time with them. You love them not just for what they can do for you, but for who they are.
I love my family and friends but there’s someone that I love even more. This someone I have come to realize that His love is steadfast for me and for you too, and that’s God.
I’ve experienced more and more as I’ve walked with God of what falling in love with Him daily looks like.
This month the church we are partnering with has a mission to reach, teach and mobilize people in furthering the gospel. Their vision is becoming a reality.
One morning my team and I went to a field thinking we were going to play soccer, little did we know we’d be teaching kids songs, dances and bible stories. Although the kids didn’t know English their smiles showed me more of God’s unfailing love and joy.
After that, we all gathered under a mango tree and drank some iced coffee while sharing our testimonies to a group of women. The translator turned around and looked at me and said “do you want to share your testimony?”
That’s when I heard God say “share my LOVE.” Just like the love that you saw in the little kids earlier today, speak of that same love for these women.
I began to share God’s love for these girls and intertwined that with how I experienced God’s love for the first time and how it’s continued throughout my life.
After that, our team went into the city to teach English class. When we got there, we were asked to share our testimonies and the gospel with the students without a translator.
I sat down and chatted with a girl about Jesus but I noticed she had a hard time understanding. I ended up drawing a comic strip of the gospel to the girl and she seemed to sort of understand but, I felt God just prompting me to say “God loves you.” She repeated it back to herself, smiled and said it back to herself over and over again.
You see, God’s love is not something we fall out of. He NEVER stops loving us.
When we abide in God’s love we see His love everyday and everywhere. From that, we are able to impart the love He freely gives us to others.
Are you falling in love with God everyday?
A love as to where you can’t get enough of spending time with Him and you see Him in all facets of life?
Or are you falling in love with the wrong things that leave you empty and not fully complete?
Who will you fall in love with today?
“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 118:1
