Some people have asked if I am making this missionary thing into a full time career.  Hmm…it is starting to look like that.  Do I like traveling?  Do I like missions? Well, yes, but really for me it is deeper than that.  I know that God has a destiny for me and I have learned that reaching my destiny and inheritance is started by listening to the voice of God in my life.  By simply asking, “God what would you have me do next?”  And then waiting for the quiet whisper or the smack on the back of the head.  For the last two years it has just been one step at a time.   Like my friend Scott Molgard says, “Following God is like driving down a foggy road.  You know you have to keep going straight but you can only see a little bit in front of you.”

Well the next sign on the road reads, Exit Haiti.  So off I go.  I will be flying down there on May 31st, just 16 days away! I will be there through August 7th leading the short term trips that come in from the States.  They are made up mostly of church/youth groups.   I will provide them the logistics support they need to get set up and do ministry while also partnering with them in their ministry and providing spiritual direction.  The week of ministry could be anything from construction to childrens ministry to prayer walking.  In the weeks that I am not leading a team I will be working on the supply line for AIM to help ensure all materials coming into Haiti get taken care of and to the right people.

From what I can tell conditions are pretty intense down there.  Temperatures are and will be in the high 90s, it is humid, and there are lots of mosquitoes.  I will be bringing my tent and was told to get a mosquito net in the event I get to sleep inside some where.   Yeah, so I will be honest those sort of temperatures could be reason enough for me to not go.   But in my heart I feel a greater tug to experience what God is doing down there -a National Revival.  I have heard many stories of miracles, like this one here, about a boy whose body is miraculous healed and a witch doctors curse broken.

Maybe some of you readers/supporters would like to check it out first hand.  AIM is offering week trips all summer for individuals and groups for under $400 per person. Click here for more info.  Maybe my friends from Grand Rapids could all come down for a week?
