I have finished my time in Lodwar Kenya and now am at Debrief with the rest of my Squad (50 people) in Eldoret Kenya. Debrief is time where we take a few days at the end of each ministry month to refresh, discuss what happened and to get filled back up. This Debrief we celebrated Christmas with each other on New Years Eve. We put together a day of Christmas traditions and activities to remember home. I actually helped in cutting down our Christmas Kenyan Tree.
We had a great time in Lodwar filled with many unique experiences:
Killing a Scorpion
Preaching in a church
Crazy bus ride – with a drunken armed guard, I got to hold his gun for a while
Playing with kids from an Orphanage
Meeting people from Legends of Mary – a cult
Praying on the Prayer Mountain
Going on Mission trip with college students on Holiday break – kind of ironic
Killing a Goat with a machete
Seeing people accepting the Lord
Participating in the Christmas Eve service – it goes from 9pm to sunrise
Swimming in Lake Turkana and crossing part of the lake in a sinking row boat
Sleeping under the stars every night
The current plan is take a bus tomorrow to Uganda where my team and team Judah will be ministering in Kampala the Capital. Not sure exactly what we are doing yet, but I hope to be updating more regularly this month because internet should be more accessible in the capital. Unfortunately the internet that I have been able to have access to is extremely slow so I can’t post as many pictures I would like and the videos I made.
Please pray that we would depend on Christ strength and not ours as we are faced with fact that we have 8 more months of missions.
