In my last blog: Behind the Scenes of the Race, I tried to paint a true picture of what the Race is like but unfortunately it seems that it was miss interpreted which probably means I did a poor job of explaining.  I did not want you to think that I am discouraged, sad, or unsatisfied.  Because I am not.  I am actually doing quite well.  This has been one of my favorite months thus far.  What I was trying to communicate was that if you read only my highlights from my trip then you are missing part of the bigger picture.  The bigger picture is that life out here is really not that different from life back at home. What I have been learning is that I don’t need to fly a million miles around the world to find God. I just need to open my eyes to where he already is. I didn’t want you to think that since I am on The World Race my life is crazy all the time and far from your reality of life.  Life is life even all the way around the world.  Which actually is really cool because that means we can experience God wherever we are: home, work, in the car or at the store. God is always working all the time in our lives in big ways and in small.  In the exciting and the not so exciting.  In Michigan or in Uganda.

I wanted to update you on Lindsey Heston.  I asked you to support her financially last week.  Thank you to those that did.  She only needs to raise $2,000 dollars now instead of $6,000.

I wanted to give everyone the heads up that I will be going to Tanzania next month instead of Ethiopia.   Apparently the only way to Ethiopia for us was a 36 hour bus ride on a 2 track road so we opted for the more accessible Tanzania.

I got to watch the Inauguration last night.  (God bless America)  All of Uganda was very excited about it.  People have Obama t-shirts and even have named stores after him like Obama’s butchery.  Also when I walk down the street people yell, “Obama!” at me in praise.
