That moment when you find out you’ve reached your next deadline and can leave with your team in January. Your heart warms and a smile is permanently etched on your face. People tell you you’re glowing, and you jump at the chance to tell them how amazing God is.
That moment when you find out that a pledge of $1000 isn’t coming. You wonder how the confusion could have occurred, but are grateful that a smaller donation is still coming because, despite having financial problems, your family and friends still want to support your dreams.
That moment when you realize THAT donation was what put you past your second deadline and now you haven’t reached it. You finally grasp that your next deadline is only 8 days away.
That moment when you wonder if you’ll be able to leave with your team in 4 weeks. You start wondering how you can possibly raise the remaining $850 in four days so that it can be processed in time.
That moment when you reach blind panic. You freeze. For a short moment you’re angry with God for getting you so close before taking it away. You just want to go and serve others – it shouldn’t be this difficult! You start to get angry with yourself for having taken a break from asking for donations. If you hadn’t you might have been past it by now. Your frustration prevents you from doing anything but questioning yourself.
That moment when a student who works part time with you hears what just happens and immediately goes online to make a donation. You’re reminded that through God all things are possible and a sense of peace calms you. You know He’ll SOMEHOW provide, but can’t for the life of you figure out how. You start sending out tons of emails and text messages for prayers and support. You ask your team to pray for you and beg God for a miracle.
That moment when you realize you have to write yet another blog to ask strangers for help. You hope they find it in their hearts to donate because they can somehow feel your love for God through your words. You start to laugh at yourself because you have a feeling that you’ll be writing similar blogs asking strangers and friends for support – financial, prayer, and whatever else they’re willing to give – many more times.

My next fundraising deadline is December 19th. If I don’t raise $850 I won’t be able to leave with my amazing team in January. PLEASE, please, please donate any amount and help me reach my goal. Whatever amount you’re able to give, YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! Remember donations take about 4 days to process, so if you’re planning to donate, please do so by Monday, December 15th.
Love+blessings!
‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’ – Matthew 6:25-34
