Pray – [Kuldiga, Latvia]

 

Silhouette – At the tip of Latvia, I found myself taking countless pictures. As I looked around I noticed that this single man stood separate, looking out to the Baltic sea while everyone else took pictures. He reminded me to put down my camera and soak in the beauty of where I was. [Kolka, Latvia]

 

Admire – the architecture in Latvia was beautiful. I spent hours admiring the beauty in that country. [Riga, Latvia]

 

Laughter transcends language. [Kuldiga, Latvia]

 

Reflect – [Talsi, Latvia]  

 

Fields – Our team’s second month in Latvia was unsung hero month. We were left on our own to find contacts around Latvia for AIM to connect with in the future. The Lord told our team to head north to Talsi, but it wasn’t until the day before leaving that he provided us with a church to stay at. We went, with low expectations, and were beyond blessed to be provided with beds, a shower, a kitchen, and this beautiful backyard where we were free to roam and pray. [Talsi, Latvia]

 

Explore – I realized that the true adventure of this year is found in the little things. Exploring the neighbourhoods we visit, getting to know locals.. finding fun wherever we go. [Liepaja, Latvia]

 

Play – Liepaja is filled with young men who don’t have examples to look to. I saw countless single, teenage mothers who’d been left by their boyfriends. Every week Jani devotes his evenings to playing with the local youth to encourage them and give them what they miss out on everyday without the father figure they need. His hope is to help them live their lives in ways they can be proud of. [Liepaja, Latvia]

 

Soar – “..those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31 [Liepaja, Latvia]

 

Tourists – My team and I experienced the kindness of the Latvian people time after time during our 2 months there. On this particular day 3 strangers dropped what they were doing to show us around the city and take us to areas we wouldn’t have been able to find on our own. [Ventspils, Latvia]

 

Respond – After an incredibly heartwarming message from Janis about how God changed his life, Janis invited people to change their own lives. This was the response. [Kuldgia, Latvia]
