Month 8 was a little different from my previous months. My team was in a closed countries, and for the safety of our host I have to be careful with the phrasing I use, and the pictures that I share. All names have been changed.

That being said I decided to devote this picture blog the children at the preschool I had the privilege of teaching at for my first week in the country. These pictures can’t include any cues that might indicate location so they are mainly close up shots of the beautiful kids I got to play with. Enjoy!

Bright eyes – this is one of my favourite pictures from my trip. I’ve always believed you can read a person through their eyes. This little girl reminded me of the innocence, fun, and beauty that all children have.

Hands on assignment – Busy working on his in-class assignment.

Line up

Munsing – This little girl is autistic. I first met her after her grandma dropped her off. She couldn’t stop crying. The principal asked me to play with her until she was comfortable enough to join her class so I spent the day learning about her love of toy cars and playgrounds. By the end of the morning she was leading me into different classrooms by hand. Each day after that I was greeted with an excited smile and a good morning hug. [Southeast Asia]

Discreet – During my first week I was asked to take pictures of the kids. I was told the boy in green is really shy and hides from the camera whenever it’s out. I was overjoyed to catch him in two of my favourite shots of the month. Here’s the first!
