When I started fundraising 6 months ago I started with a simple prayer. “Father I ask for just enough. Place generosity in other’s hearts and grow their hearts for the unreached.”

Since then, I have seen God continually work again and again to bring in funds. Whether that was bringing in $3500 before I had even started fundraising, blessing the hard work from everyone that helped all the fundraising efforts, or providing large gifts when doubt started to creep into my mind, He always was present and working in other’s hearts to provide for this trip.

When I started fundraising I was a little worried. I grew up in Sioux Falls, worked in Iowa and North Dakota, and my family moved to Wyoming while I was off at college… So my local support consisted of my church (which I really wasn’t super involved with since most of my time was spent with InterVarsity campus outreach) and my college friends.

And lets be honest. College friends are poor

But college friends are also generous. 😀 Through support letters and phone calls people who haven’t seen me in years also jumped in and gave! Family from multiple states gave support, family friends from the new Wyo home joined in, friends from out of town helped fundraise, and people I met and knew for about 20 minutes jumped in all over the place to hear what God was doing in my life and support my trip! I’ve had a front row seat to the beautiful picture that is the Church in MANY places in MANY different representations.

So I just wanted to take this blog to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who supported my trip. Thank you for praying for me and my team. Thank you for liking my thousands of posts on facebook (I promise they are about to disappear and I’ll go back to silence). Thank you for being generous. The gifts continually surprised me with all your generosity and love. I feel well supported and this fundraising served to remind me of all the brothers and sisters I have here at home.

Finally, one of my favorite things to do is give gifts anonymously. So I was a little surprised, and thrilled, when large anonymous gifts started coming in. All said and done almost $2,500 was donated anonymously! 😀 Whether that was a random stranger from church handing me cash, online donations, or receiving donations from people I don’t know. I want to say thank you. Thank you donation ninjas.

Most of all God has reinforced a simple lesson.

               Trust waits patiently

It’s easy to freak out when today is all we think about. But when God says He will provide, we need only be faithful, and wait confidently.

Be assured that God WILL provide. Continue to seek after Him and trust in Him. It’s really that simple. In time He will give you all you need. (*warning, that does not say that He will give you what you want. Change in plans and direction not money might be what you need. But He will take you there. We don’t have to worry)

Go forward in Confident Patience

Thank you again everyone! Where your treasure is there your heart is also and it makes my heart leap knowing that a piece of each of your hearts is given to God’s mission. Keep giving! Keep being generous!

“Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.”

Needs have been met, and abundant thanks goes up to God

With Faith, Hope, and Love

Nathan
