Ever feel like everything hits you all at once? Like you don’t have a chance to react because everything is coming so fast? Pressure rises, Anxiety climbs, and you have no idea how to fix it.
.
Yeah me too.
.
Fundraising deadlines, future decisions, saying goodbye to family for 9 months, trying to be a whole person, learning to grow, it all comes at the same time and you can’t do anything about it. Or at least you feel as if you can’t. I’m so tempted to say “I’m in a hard season.” “This is impossible, there’s no way I can do anything.” “I’m just gonna give up I can’t do this.” Throughout all of this, the enemy is shooting arrows at me while I have my guard down. What do I do?
.
The other day the enemy was firing arrows at me and I decided that I didn’t know what else to do so I went to God. He’s always constant. Through the extremely loud voice of the enemy, I said “Papa say something! Anything! I just need a few words!” Right then I heard Him say

“Luke 8 in the Message”
.
“Then he said to his disciples, ‘Why can’t you trust me?'” – Luke 8:25 (MSG)
.
Safe to say I was blown away. All this stuff happening in my life and I forget the foundational building block of my entire faith.
.
T R U S T
– the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. –
.
Trust is one of the most terrifying things you can ever face. It can become one of the most painful, excruciating experiences in your life or it can be one of the satisfying and rewarding experiences of your life. Trust is giving up your control. It’s letting go of your right in the decision-making process (something I thought I was good at). The result of trust is completely in the hands of the one that is trusted. You can’t halfway trust something, it’s all or nothing. Trust is scary.
.
Back to Luke 8. Storms exist. They just do. When the disciples faced the storm they were faced with an option. Worry about the storm and freak out, or go sleep downstairs with Jesus. The Lord told me one time that if they would have gone downstairs with Jesus the storm would have stopped. But instead, they wasted their energy on the storm. Their trust was misplaced…
.
So here I sit. I feel like I’m on the boat in the storm and everything in life is insane. The storm is shaking the boat and I’m asked a question.
.
are you willing to trust me?
.
Am I willing to walk downstairs, regardless of the severity of the storm, and take a nap with Jesus? Am I willing to give up control for the rest of my life and not just talk the talk but walk this thing fully out?
.
I am. are you?
