“C’mon son. Let’s just go a little bit deeper. Just a little deeper.”

H’s just so tender. So patient. Always calling me into M O R E. More intimacy, more friendship, more love, more freedom, more truth. He’s just kind, that’s who He is and that’s who He will always be.

A few days ago we were in activation (which is one of our ministry days) and we were learning about the Lords’s voice and hearing Him more clearly. They then split us up into pairs and we went outside together and the other person would speak whatever they heard the Lord saying over you. I was with my friend Emily and this is what she heard the Lord say:
“I see this vision of you as Moana and the ocean as the Father. I saw the Lord calling you deeper and deeper into the water. I think He’s calling you into deeper and deeper friendship and intimacy.”

What an amazing word but when she gave it to me I thought “I’m already pretty tight with the Lord. I mean He wakes me in the morning. We talk every day. How can we go deeper?” Fun Fact: you can always go deeper with the Lord! Always.

Papa began walking me through Hebrews 10. How He “remembers my sins no more.” (Heb. 10:17) and how I have been “sprinkled clean from an evil conscience” (Heb. 10:22). How is this going deeper? Well here’s the truth.

I think a lot of the time we use language like “I’m a sinner saved by grace.” and “this is just how it is.” We have these little catchphrases to keep ourselves locked in a box of absolute slavery to dead sin. What does God say? We’re completely clean and bought with a price so that we no longer have to live that way. We’re not sinners. Even when we may slip into sin the Lord says that He doesn’t remember our sin anymore. So we’re just clean. Free. But free to do what?

Papa’s just so intentional isn’t He. He brings me to this place of saying “Okay I’m no longer a sinner or have sin on my plate, now what?” And His response is,

“Let’s just get more intimate. Come a little bit closer. Fall a little more into my arms. You have no, sin so now you can come as close as you want. Nathan, Lets go a little bit deeper. The water’s fine I promise.”

He just wants me to be a son. To share in the inheritance of a king and love others as an outflow. When you know Him ministering is fun, not dragging. So I’m going deeper. Always deeper. Just like Moana, I’ll chase His goodness just like shells in the Ocean. He’ll never hold back.
