Training camp

It now has been a few weeks since training, but I needed some time to be able to think about what I wanted to say about training camp. I needed the time due to the reason that there was a lot of information that was thrown at us in such little time. But overall training camp was amazing. Instead of doing a walk through everyday of training camp to not spoil things for future racers, I am going to summarize what I learned during camp and the people that I get to spend the next nine months with into a collection of individual phrases and statements.

But first a recap of where I have been the last month:

The week after training camp I had the opportunity to go visit a former foreign exchange student in Germany. Where his family took me in and showed me everything from Bremen all the way down on the border of Austria and Germany. So I have been busy traveling for the last month of first being in Gainesville, Georgia back to Colorado for three days and then to Iceland, then to Germany and back.

Now Training Camp!!

  • Mission work is about Universal Reconciliation and Universal Worship.

  • God is going to do radical thing in Myanmar as we (Q squad is the storm to put out the fire).

  • Your relationship with the Holy Spirit is unique to you.

  • Sometimes you may not even realize you’re harboring heavy unforgiveness.

  • Don’t be disheartened if the way Christ communicates to you is different than the way He communicates to another. (For example, I feel the Lord communicates with me best when I am in nature)

  • The Holy Spirit is the most powerful thing.

  • Communication and encouragement what a Family needs and requires.

  • God can do all things

Some things that I learned at camp

  • Porta-potties are a luxury compared what we will have in the field

  • Have the yes attitude towards everything (after you ask God to make sure that it will be okay to say yes)

  • Say Yes to new foods (I did this the whole ten days I was in Germany where my house family would order me something in German, and I had no idea what they ordered for me to eat and then after the meal I would ask them, “what kind of meat is this or what animal did this come from?”)

  • Crickets are actually not to bad.

  • It’s still cool when you are 18-20 years old to have a dance off and to make a dance routine

  • Worship can move mountains

  • Sleeping in an airport isn’t to bad, just very cold

Here are some pictures from camp:

This is our campsite.

This is my team, my team I will be growing in the Lord together with for nine months. Also this was our Man Hike where we carried two guys up a mountain.

This is my family for nine months, we are Q Squad!

I am $800 away from $10000 my second goal. I am doing a adopt-a-box fundraiser and when you pledge to a amount (box 5 = $5) your name will be put into a raffle for a souvenir from when I am in country.

You are not limited to the boxes that have been colored in. Write in the comments or send me a email at [email protected] on what box you want to pledge to, then I will put you into the raffle.
