Hey everyone! It has definitely been awhile due to ending of the school year, finals, graduation, and my engineering project for MIT. It is amazing being graduated but I am excited to be down with my MIT project, it has taken all year. I worked on a team from my high school and three others from another school (12 in total) to design and create a distressed beacon for inner cities during a natural disaster. It is a three part system of our Beacon potion (Baby BRD), our relay station on a drone or other vehicle (Mama BRD), and our ground station (BRD Nest). Just this week my teacher and I got all three parts communicating with one another, which is a huge success. Next week I fly to Boston to present BRD systems in the Lemelson-MIT competition. We are competing against 15 other teams from around the United States who have earned a grant for InvenTeams. It has been an awesome experience working with my classmates to design something completely new and being able to work with our community in test our product.
Also amazing news is that I am 50% funded for the race!! It is such a huge milestone and I have to thank everyone for all there generous donations! In the next few days I am posting about a new fundraiser and if you donate, your name will be placed into a drawing for a souvenir from a country that I will be traveling to.
