Cambodia has been a very unique experience for me. Living here has taught me a lot of things, things I’ve learned through trial and error. I think I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but it’s been almost everyday that I’ve gone to bed with a new perspective than I had when I woke up. That’s pretty incredible if you ask me, and let me tell you it doesn’t come easily. I mean I didn’t have that a year ago when I was in high school living for myself and going about “regular” life. No, it’s the process of dying to my self, dying to my flesh that gives me that new perspective everyday. I mean it’s just like Jesus said, “If you cling to your life you will lose it, but if you give up your life for my sake you will find it.” I can’t tell you anything more true than that, and it takes laying down our earthly desires, so that we can have that intimate relationship with Christ and the Father that we were made for. That’s real freedom, that’s the freedom that Christ came and died for. It honestly takes my breath away when I think about it.
But it’s always much easier said than done. It’s not the easiest thing to do to get up everyday and have the mindset to die to yourself so you can gain more of Christ. Cause when you do that, you not only have Christ living in you but He begins to shine through you. Because Jesus didn’t come just to be an example of how to live but he came to live in us. And it’s that incredible. It’s also a hard fight in this current world we live in. But having that warrior-like mindset is how we continue to do that. I mean that’s who I am, that’s who God created me to be: a warrior that’s fighting the good fight, everyday.
