For most of my life, I dreaded Mondays because it usually meant the beginning of a new school week but lately I am starting to look forward to Mondays. I look forward to Monday for two reasons: the first reason is getting to partake in what we racers call ATL or ask the Lord. This is a time where we get to go out into the community and ask the Father to direct us to whoever he wants to show his love to by using us as the vessels. What is so exciting about this is we get to see a lot of really cool things happen and watch as God moves in all kinds of different ways. For example, today the Lord highlighted a security guard in a little shack that we were walking by and I felt God telling me to go and have a conversation with him. Now me being my human self I hesitated because I didn’t know what I was supposed to have a conversation with this guy about. However, God told me not to worry but just to go, so I did. Then when I began to talk with the guard God began to give me things to say to him and it ended up being an awesome moment that God used to show his love for that man.
However, it doesn’t always end up that way; sometimes it’s just about obeying what the Father is telling you and trusting in the ways he works. For example, last week I felt the Lord very clearly telling me to go up to this guy who was about to walk out of the mall and tell him that God loves him and that he his going to show you that love very soon. So I went up to him and told him exactly what God had told me to say. The guy understood what I said but didn’t understand why I told him this and kinda laughed in my face. Let me tell you, that was pretty uncomfortable, but that’s where I have to trust in the way God works. Whether I was the first person to tell that man about Gods love for him or the 10th I simply obeyed and planted seeds that God will grow.
So that is one part of Mondays that I am beginning to love, the second part is what we call activations. Activations are sessions where one of the staff members will talk about whatever the Lord has to teach us that week. So it’s really a time of being poured into and learning about who God is. So yeah, Mondays are pretty incredible.
