The past month has been rather hectic. Between going to the jungle in Talamanca for a week, holding the skate competition, and finishing up ministry in Costa Rica, it all seems like somewhat of a blur. However, everyday that has gone by the past month, I have seen God’s goodness again and again. God has done a lot in Costa Rica and I can honestly say it’s been an incredible experience and privilege to be a part of. I have intentionally chosen to “be in the moment” while here, and am so thankful for these past three months.
Saying goodbye this past week has definitely not been easy to do. When we got to the skate park and told them it was our last day, I had so many young guys tell me “No, you can’t leave.” Let me tell you, that right there made my heart ache. There were more goodbyes throughout the week with our different ministries but the skaters were by far the most difficult.
During all of this though, I’ve thought a lot about why saying goodbye to them was so hard, and I’ve come to think it’s because we built such strong relationships with them. So even though we’re leaving Costa Rica and saying bye to people we have built relationships with, it has all been so good. Saying goodbye to the skaters is very bittersweet because I know that we have touched their lives and I know that God worked through us. I trust that even after we are gone, God will still be working in Costa Rica and in the lives of the skaters we’ve grown to love.
So all in all, Costa Rica has been amazing and I’ve seen over and over just how Good the Father is and have experienced so much of the Joy that He bestows all the time.
Please be praying for me and my squad as we head to Cambodia and keep praying for Costa Rica, especially these skaters.
God is so so good and He is always working.
P.S. You can take a look at the photos on this blog to catch a glimpse of what life has looked like here in Costa Rica.
