First, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me so far on my journey. I am so incredibly grateful for everyone’s prayers and generosity.

I came home about 3 weeks ago from a very eventful training camp. Training camp was for two weeks at Adventures in Mission’s headquarters in Gainesville, Georgia, where the temperature never dropped below 120 degrees and the humidity was always 200%. Not really, but the exaggeration hopefully gives you an idea of how truly hot it was. I was able to meet my whole squad full of 40 awesome, Jesus-loving guys and girls. Everyday there was a country-specific theme for our meals and we ate community style, so we could all blame the person next to us for our own starvation. There were 2-3 sessions a day where we worshiped and had guest speakers discuss topics ranging from forgiveness to physical health to child/orphan/sex traffic ministry. I learned a lot and grew a lot in this short period of time.

The second week was mostly about team formations and teamwork. Each team is a group of 6-7 people out of our 40-person squad. Our 40-person squad will travel to each country together, but each 6-7 person team will go to different parts of the country. I’ll be spending a lot of time with my team. Luckily I love my team and I am super excited to share life and ministry with them. A small introduction, of my amazing team – The Illuminators: the three guys are Evan Fisher, Joey Rhoden and me and the four girls are Kyndal Cody, Anna Redderson, Brielle Becker and Cara Martin. Their blogs should be below. If you are reading mine, you should for sure check theirs out. My squad will be living in Guatemala City for the first two weeks and then my team will leave for Quiche Guatemala and will be helping a ministry call New Generation Centro America.

I am beyond excited to leave on this trip. I’ve raised over $11,000 so far and only need to raise about $2,700 to be fully funded. We travel to Atlanta, Georgia on August 4 for our final preparation and then on to Guatemala on August 7. I can’t wait.

Please keep me and my team in your prayers. If you have any question or would like to talk, my phone number is (512) 669-8198 or you can contact me through my blog.
