I realized a number of weeks ago that I had never finished my final World Race blogs…and there was something there with failing to close and enter new seasons well. It’s vitally important how we close up one season, and start the next. And, it’s something our generation has a lot to learn about.
It’s time to close the World Race chapter, as well as this last one in Seattle. It does not mean a final goodbye to many of these special friends; it does mean walking obediently into what’s next…
Here I am come Dallas, Texas.
On December 28th, I asked this beautiful woman, Mary Moriah Banas, to marry me. We met on the Race, and 15 months to the day she asked God when she would no longer be single (and He said, “15 months”), I got down on one knee without any knowledge of that conversation.

She said, “absolutely YES!”
I am incredibly excited and expectant for what this engagement season holds. There are many unknowns, but there are some very important knowns. After all He has done, I have no business doubting those things for which He has purposed Moriah and I.
I want to look back on this year and know that I am walking more assertively and decisively as a man of God. I want to be in a radically different place with how I think and dream. I want to see that I have been a real part in making disciples that are bearing fruit. And, I can’t wait to say, “I do!”
I am holding to the promise that Jesus is bringing, this year, bones for the breath – the passion – He has given me, and spiritual fathers to cement the character for the calling.
As I acknowledge Him in all ways – and He does desire to be acknowledged in the simplest of daily decisions to the most dramatic – what will He continue to do?
Direct my path.
