I booked my flight to Atlanta this morning! A big part of going on the World Race is going to training camp. It is a week in Atlanta at the Adventures in Missions headquarters where they tell us about the trip, grow closer with our fellow racers and with God, and were we prepare for the trip. I am so excited for this opportunity to meet the people I will be spending 9 months with before we actually leave. The dates for Training Camp is July 16-26th. Please be praying for me as I meet all of the people that will be (Lord willing) some of my best friends for all of my life. I am excited to see what God will show me during the week I am there.

Another big part of Training Camp is the gear. A big advantage of having Training Camp before we leave for the trip is that we get to test out all of our gear. We have to make sure that everything we are taking is practical, light weight and durable. Everything for 9 months of living and traveling will go into two backpacks, and we will get practice packing those two backpacks for training camp. Unfortunately, I have never been backpacking, so I need to get pretty much all of the equipment. I have been accumulating some of big expensive items like my backpacks and tent, but I still need lots of little things. If you have these items and can donate them, I would be extremely appreciative. They can be new or used but they have to be able to last 9 months. This is a great opportunity to help me accomplish God’s plan for my ministry in a practical way. Please prayerfully consider if you have anything you can donate. Thank you so much for your support, I have been humbled in this process. I couldn’t do it without you!
